General Education Requirements

• Most academic programs require particular general education courses to augment the rest of the program. Therefore, for most programs there is no need to choose among the general education courses, a student simply needs to follow the program as listed in the catalog.
   
  If the program listing requires the student to choose a general education course it will appear as “General Education Requirements: Mathematics 3-4 credits" please refer to the chart below. The student would choose a 3 or a 4 credit course from those suggested as long as he/she has the prerequisite for the chosen course.
   
  Course descriptions with prerequisites are listed immediately after the program curriculum in the catalog. If the program listing says “Choose any general education course” the student can choose any course in the list below for which he/she has the prerequisite.

• All BCCC students must meet the College’s Computer Literacy requirement in order to receive a degree or a certificate. Students can meet this requirement in three ways:
  1. By enrolling in one of the majors listed below.
  2. By taking one of the computer courses listed below and passing the course with a “C” or better.
  3. By passing the College’s Computer Literacy Test with a minimum grade of 70%.

• 1. Apply for Admissions

  • • Submit the Maryland Residency Verification(if applicable)
    • Complete  New Student Orientation (in-person-or online)
    • Submit the appropriate academic credentials to the Admissions Office:
      • Official High School transcript (showing evidence of graduation) or
      • GED Diploma (copy of scores) and/or
      • Official College transcripts

  2. Select a Payment Option

  • For Financial Aid: Apply at fafsa.ed.gov
    School Code 002061
  • Set up a deferred payment plan.
  • Pay directly via cash, debit or credit card, money order or 3rd party payment.

  3. Satisfy Placement Requirements          
  4. Meet with a Student Success Advisor 
  5. Register for Classes

  • Confirm your payment option is finalized
  • Print Your Schedule
  • Buy Books and Supplies
  • Obtain Student ID
  • Buy Parking / Transit Pass or Arrange Transportation
